Rmn-Grand Palais joins the fight against breast cancer

October 29 2011

Rmn-Grand Palais is joining forces with "Le cancer du sein, parlons-en !", an association whose mission is to develop awareness of breast cancer.
On October 29 2011, for the first time, the Grand Palais will be lit up in pink, the symbol of the fight against the disease. The event, on a grand scale, has become part of a tradition of major illuminations organized worldwide for the last 19 years by Estée Lauder Companies. Every year, in October, more than 200 national heritage or natural sites are lit up in pink. Venues have included the Sydney Opera House, the Niagara Falls, the Water Cube in China, and New York’s Rockefeller Center and JF Kennedy Airport.
For the occasion, an impressive pink ribbon will be formed in the Nave with 700 people symbolising 700 hearts in the fight against breast cancer.
