The 1st Audi Talent Awards ceremony took place on June 5 2007 in the Nave of the Grand Palais.

The competition, focusing on four areas (contemporary art, industrial design, music, sports innovation), rewards young creative talents who are encouraged to show a sense of sophistication, the avant-garde and fair play that reflect the auto maker's core values.

RATP - January 2009 – Nave of the Grand Palais

The RATP (the Paris public transport authority) celebrated the New Year in the Grand Palais as part of the Yann-Arthus Bertrand exhibition: 6 billion others. The CEO of the Paris transport authority, responsible for running its metro, bus and tram networks, presented his greetings to the personnel, with a cocktail buffet accompanied by a big band, screens and illuminated totems: for two days, the Nave pulsated to the rhythms of the RATP!  

Gallimard - February 2009 – On the Fine Arts Staircase

On the evening of February 5 2009, the Fine Arts Staircase welcomed the prestigious French publisher Gallimard for the launch of the book Grand Palais, monument capital, released in its collection "Découvertes Gallimard”. For the event, the invitingly warm Fine Arts Staircase was decorated in green, echoing the signature mignonette green paintwork of the Nave’s metal structure. Addresses by Yves Saint-Geours, author of the text for the book, and Élisabeth de Farcy, director of the collection, were followed by cocktails. Guests were each given a copy of the work.

April 6 was party time in the Grand Palais. Mobile phone operator SFR installed an original scenography in the Nave featuring a giant Rubix' Cube and four inflatable igloos. With cocktails, dance floor, digital photo studios, giant screen and 5,000 happy guests!

In 2009, French cosmetics giant l'Oréal celebrated its 100th anniversary! To mark the event, it chose the Grand Palais for the final evening of a symposium dedicated to partner hair stylists. Beneath the cupola of the Nave, an outstanding gala dinner was attended by 4,000 hair stylists from all over the world. With 320 tables laid and a sumptuous decor, they enjoyed an evening that lasted till 4 in the morning.

November 5 2009 was a première for two reasons. Firstly, the review L'Architecture d'aujourd'hui chose the Grand Palais to celebrate its launch. The magazine, a reference in the world of architecture, founded in 1930 by André Bloc, has been revived, after a long absence, by the efforts of architect Jean Nouvel, entrepreneur Alexandre Allard, and journalist Cyrille Poy.
Secondly, the venue chosen for the cocktail party, organised in honour of the celebrated periodical, was the Galerie courbe, the curved gallery in the Grand Palais. A well-kept secret, the venue, which is still undergoing refurbishment, was opened with stringent safety measures, and specially laid out and decorated for the one-off event. Guests included the French Minister of Culture and Communication, Frédéric Mitterrand and personalities like painter Pierre Soulages, designer Philippe Starck, and former Minister of Culture Donnedieu de Vabres…
At the end of the evening, the Galerie courbe closed its doors again to enable work to continue, in preparation for future public or private events.

To launch her collection for H&M, fashion designer Sonia Rykiel organised a mammoth party in the Nave of the Grand Palais. A scaled-down version of Paris was rebuilt in the Nave with a brightly illuminated 80-foot Eiffel Tower as its centerpiece, surrounded by a big wheel, an Arc de triomphe and other recognisable city features… A festive atmosphere and floats accompanied the models at the catwalk spectacular.

For its company party SFR thought big! With cocktails, dinners, music, plasma screen, games consoles, and fairground attractions… Staff members took the chance to rediscover the joys of childhood: a merry-go-round, dodgems and fishing for rubber ducks!

IFA Congress - June 2010 – Nave of the Grand Palais

To mark the closure of its 78th annual congress, the International Fertilizer Association organised a gala dinner and dance with entertainment in the Nave. 1,300 people attended the Congress: CEOs, finance and sales directors from 470 IFA member companies, representing 80 countries.

The insurance company Prévoir is a Grand Palais patron. It is committed to developing accessibility at the Grand Palais and has funded two lifts in the Alexandre-III Rotunda. In acknowledgment of the group’s commitment, the Grand Palais offered it the opportunity to organize a party to celebrate its 100th anniversary. 4,000 guests, members of the group’s staff, attended the event conceived on a huge scale to match the setting of the Nave, embellished for the occasion with a lightshow, large-scale photos, a fog machine and confetti guns!

On January 24 2011, the Nave hosted the presentation of the latest Etam lingerie line designed by top model Natalia Vodianova. A special concert featured Beth Ditto, Mark Ronson, Joey Starr, The Kills and Boy George, while the star-studded guest list included Kate Moss, Charlotte Casiraghi, Béatrice Dalle, Lou Doillon, and Arielle Dombasle.

On March 16 2011, Jean-Paul Cluzel welcomed company managers, all members of a network called "Oséo Excellence”. The ambitious event is significant for the French economy, and President Nicolas Sarkozy and several French ministers honoured it with their presence.

For the first time in its history, the Grand Palais welcomed… football! The sport’s governing body in Europe held its 35th congress in the Nave on March 22 2011. The congress agenda included not only the traditional items, such as the review of the past year’s activities, the approval of the accounts and budgets and amendments to the statutes, but also, the four-yearly election of UEFA’s President. Michel Platini was re-elected unopposed.  Addressing the assembly, he said “this is an especially moving experience for me, the grandson of Italian immigrants, who, growing up in a little village in Lorraine, would never have expected to be addressing you all at the Grand Palais, as President of UEFA”.

April 21: an audience of 1,500 was invited to the Nave for the world’s biggest private viewing! The cartoon film Rio was projected in 3D on a giant screen measuring 297 m2. Among LG’s star guests were Sophie Marceau, Samuel Le Bihan, Claude Lelouch, and Audrey Lamy.
