On May 15 2010 the 6th European Museum Night was held in the Grand Palais
Partners combined their talents to put together a stunning evening at the Grand Palais.
The Grand Palais opened its doors from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am to allow visitors to enjoy NoctamBulle, a unique and totally original event in the Nave.
NoctamBulle was a fragrant and visual installation conceived by Francis Kurkdjian.
Thousands of fragrant bubbles of all sizes created the atmosphere of a virtual greenhouse. Freshly cut grass, lily of the valley, pear, honey, fig, rose, jasmine, mimosa, orange blossom and mint leaves, the Nave of the Grand Palais was alive with subtle and heady fragrances.
The magical ballet was set to soundscapes dreamed up in the Nave by Béatrice Ardisson. Crystalline sound and tinkling bells provided a gentle accompaniment to the magic of the show.
In addition to the practical patronage from Francis Kurkdjian and Béatrice Ardisson, European Museum Night in the Grand Palais was also supported by the company C17 SFX which provided a set of bubble-blowing machines of all sizes for the Nave, as well as the company JLT Services for its sound system technology and the lighting that cast colours around the Nave as the event unfolded.
