The Paddock

The Nave: This central area in the Grand Palais has been at the centre of the cultural and social life of the French capital for over a century. With Europe’s biggest glass roof, the Nave has been entirely restored and offers 145,000 sq.ft of magnificent, naturally lit floor space.
The Fine Arts Staircase: With its curves and coils, the Fine Arts Staircase is a generous and inviting venue where guests entering from the avenue Winston-Churchill can receive a customised welcome and ushered through to the Nave.
The Paddock: Located in the Nave, facing the entrance, the paddock owes its name to the horse shows that were once organised there. With its Great Staircase, it offers a sumptuous setting for evening receptions, dinners and congresses…
The Balcony of Honour: This modular area has a magnificent full view over the Nave and can be tailored to create a very personal atmosphere for your events.
The digital projection room: With a capacity of 104 seats, the projection room is all-digital.

The Clock Balcony: An area of 3,750 sq. ft , the clock balcony faces the great staircase and offers perhaps the finest view of the Nave.
The South-east Gallery: Covering an area of around 2,500 sq.ft, this first floor gallery offers tremendous potential for programming public events. Availble in 2011.
The VIP Lounge: A superb facility that is paradoxically a well-kept secret, the VIP Lounge is right in the heart of the Grand Palais. It offers an area of 12,800 square feet under a glass roof. Available during the second semester of 2011.

In the heart of the Nave

The Paddock directly faces the main entrance to the Grand Palais. With the Great Staircase, a masterpiece of Art nouveau, it is an instant eye-catcher.

Designed by architects Albert Louvet and Henri Deglane, the impressive double-run Great Staircase has small arcades supported by green porphyry columns, themselves resting on plinths made of granite quarried in the Vosges mountains. Constructed in naked steel, it has two perrons in marquetry with the initials RF (République Française) in bronze on either side of the balustrades.

Its architecture and visibility from the main entrance to the Grand Palais make the Paddock particularly attractive. This sumptuous setting offers tremendous visual potential for designing events in an area that is outstandingly located at the heart of the immense Nave.

This area is ideal for conventions, evening receptions, dinners, cocktails, anniversaries, and as a VIP lounge.

This area is included when you rent the Nave.

Capacity: as a cocktail lounge, up to 2,000.
Seated: up to 1,000.
