Administration

For over a century the life of the Grand Palais has known plenty of twists and turns. Though a gigantic volume, the building has been split up over the years, housing up to 17 different tenants.  Now under the management of a single body, EPGPCE, the Grand Palais is a building with a mission to ensure continuity and unity. EPGPCE is also responsible for programming all the events that are organised in the Nave.

The foundation of the Établissement public du Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées (EPGPCE) in January 2007 was a turning point in the history of the building. It was the first time since the Grand Palais was built that a single body has taken responsibility for running it.

The mission of EPGPCE is to complete the restoration of the building and launch a programme to make fuller use of the interior of the building.  It is also responsible for the events programmed in the Nave and the new areas that will be opening to the public as from the end of 2008: VIP lounge, exhibition gallery, and projection room. The need to open the Grand Palais to the public at large, and more particularly to a younger audience, by making it into a showcase for contemporary creation and innovation, is also central to its ambition. Lastly EPGPCE is setting out to develop facilities to host major events and increase the visibility and prestige of the Grand Palais in the international arena.
