The Grand Palais offers visitors a lounge style restaurant, the Mini-Palais, in an outstanding setting, between the Nave and the colonnades, with a view down to the Alexandre III Bridge. Just a stones throw from the Champs-Elysées it majestically overlooks avenue Winston-Churchill.
The result of redevelopment work by the Etablissement public du Grand Palais, the Mini Palais will be reopening its doors on September 13 2010.
Entering the restaurant you will be immediately charmed by the impressive bronze door of the Alexandre-III Rotunda and the completely restored mosaics.
The restaurant has been redesigned by architects Gilles & Boissier who have conceived the Mini Palais like an artists workshop. The parquet floor and wall fabrics are attractively set off by elegant black marble details. Large, judiciously positioned mirrors expand the space, creating a sense of infinity. The ceiling has been renovated to show off the superb metal structures painted in the Grand Palais trademark mignonette green.
The restaurants loggia terrace is an ideal place to dine in fine weather. Its imperial columns and fully restored mosaic combine to recreate all its original elegance.
The menu matches the unique setting and stature of the Grand Palais: Eric Frechon, the restaurants consultant chef, holder of three stars in the Michelin guide, has come up with a cuisine that is authentic, generous and friendly, values that are shared by Stéphane dAboville, the restaurants Chief Executive.
The Mini Palais bustles with activity throughout the day. The menu offers not only lunches and dinners but also tasty snacks available all day long.
