Restoration work begins with the foundations.

Saving the Grand Palais was a Herculean task.

A forest of scaffolding is needed to repair the metal frame.

Once the monument had been stabilised came the most delicate part of the work: reinforcing the steel frame of the dome.

To enable restoration, the dome was raised by a few centimetres.

Closed to the public since 1993, the Nave reopened in 2005.
