Horse shows

1901-1957: Horse shows

As soon as the 1900 Universal Exhibition was over, the Grand Palais busied itself preparing for the horse show, a sports event organised by the Société hippique française

It was a landmark on the high society calendar and an opportunity, each spring, to admire the coach and draft horses, the thoroughbreds, and the skills of the riders in racing and jumping events. The horse shows were held for over 50 years in the Nave.
