Monumenta

2007: Monumenta

In 2007, the Grand Palais yet again created a new event: Monumenta, based on an original concept.

Each year a major artist on the contemporary arts scene would be commissioned to produce a work specially for the immense volumes of the Nave. Anselm Kiefer was the first to take up the challenge with Falling Stars that drew 135,000 visitors in less than five weeks.
