Preparing your visit to the Grand Palais

Don’t forget your ticket!

Remember to print your ticket out and bring it or show it on your mobile phone. It will be checked at the entrance to the Grand Palais and again at the entrance to the exhibition.

 

Travel light

Motorcycle helmets, scooters, roller skates and skateboards are prohibited in the exhibition halls, but they can be left in the cloakroom free of charge. However, in accordance with the Vigipirate enhanced level security plan, we are not able to accept bags larger than 42x30x20cm inside the Grand Palais, even in our cloakroom. To avoid being caught out consult the exhibition regulations for the list of objects that are prohibited for your safety.

 

Will you have luggage or large bags with you?

The Grand Palais does not currently have a left-luggage office. Nevertheless, the list of Parisian left-luggage officies can be consulted on the website of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau. You can also use the left-luggage office at SNCF train stations such as that of Gare Montparnasse (5 stops from Champs-Elysées Clemenceau via line 13) or Gare de Lyon (9 stops from Champs-Elysées Clemenceau via line 1).

 

Will you be visiting with a baby?

For reasons of safety and comfort for visitors, pushchairs are not allowed in the exhibition halls. Rest assured, we will lend you a baby carrier and you can leave your pushchair in the cloakroom free of charge.

 

Come at the right time

Guided tour: arrive ¼ of an hour beforehand
If you are coming for a guided tour, arrive ¼ an hour beforehand at let the staff at the group reception desk know you have arrived.

Self-guided tour: arrive on time
You will be able to start your tour within half an hour of the reserved time indicated on your ticket.

Visiting without a reservation
To choose the best time slot, you can check the expected busy periods. Please note that the ticket desks close 45 minutes before the exhibitions close.

 

Find the right entrance and prepare your itinerary

Is your mobility reduced? Access is facilitated at the following two entrances:
•   Avenue du Général Eisenhower – Porte B, for exhibitions located in the Galeries Nationales
•   Avenue Winston-Churchill, for exhibitions located in the Nave and the South-East Gallery You also have access to accessible parking spaces in Avenue du Général Eisenhower, in front of Square Jean Perrin.

 

Go through the security gates

Our agents outside will direct you to the queue corresponding to your ticket: Sésame Pass and other skip-the-queue tickets, reservations or self-guided tour. At the entrance to the Grand Palais, your bag will be checked by our agents and you will be asked to walk through the security gates after having placed any metal objects to one side.

Scan your ticket

Once you have gone through the security gates, you will be able to go to the cloakroom, the auditorium, the restaurants, the cafés and, of course, the exhibitions! You need to buy your ticket? Go to the ticket desks. Once you have your ticket, show it at the entrance of your chosen exhibition with proof of your reduced rate if you have benefited from one.
