Often narrowed to Montmartre culture, the work of Toulouse Lautrec transcends however this cliché. If the artist has marvelously represented the electricity and the pleasures of the Parisian night, Toulouse-Lautrec was mostly animated by an aesthetic ambition to translate the reality of modern society in all its multiple faces.

This exhibition, exclusively constituted with masterpieces of the Tate, tales one of the most shining period of art history, from the 1760s to the 1820s. It shows an overview of generations of painters from Reynolds and Gainsborough to Turner, highlighting the originality and diversity of their production.
