"La terre, le feu, l'esprit. Chefs-d'œuvre de la céramique coréenne", c'est l'exposition qui vous attend jusqu'au 20 juin 2016 dans le Salon d'Honneur du Grand Palais.
Sous la dynastie Joseon, le placenta et le cordon ombilical d'un prince ou d'une princesse nouveau-nés étaient sacrés, c'est pourquoi ils étaient scellés dans des jarres à placenta rituellement placées dans des sanctuaires. Chacune de ces jarres monochromes, formant un service, possède quatre poignées rondes au niveau de la partie supérieure permettant de sceller le couvercle. La tablette épitaphe qui les accompagne indique que les jarres renferment le placenta et le cordon ombilical de la princesse Hapwan, fille du roi Seongjong (règne 1469-1494), et qu'ils furent enterrés en 1485.
