Géraldine Lefebvre, curator of the exhibition dedicated to Léon Monet at Musée du Luxembourg, guides you in the museum for you to discover the forgotten brother of Claude Monet... A short introduction of a must-see exhibition, up until July, 16th.
The exhibition brings together around a hundred works, among them paintings and drawings by Monet, Sisley, Pissarro and Renoir, as well as books of colours, fabric swatches, Japanese prints, archive documents and a host of family photographs. It writes Léon Monet firmly into Claude’s biography and demonstrates the two brothers’ shared interest in colour !
