Félix Vallotton est un artiste multiple de la fin du XIXème siècle : dessinateur, illustrateur, graveur, peintre mais aussi romancier prolifique, il échappe à toute classification.

Il est aussi un homme de contradictions : rebelle, sympathisant anarchiste et solide bourgeois, membre du mouvement nabi et aussi solitaire impénitent, mélancolique en même temps que doté d’un solide humour...
