Michael et Sarah Stein habitent avec leur fils Allan au 58 de la rue Madame tandis que Gertrude et Leo sont installés au 27 rue de Fleurus. Ces deux lieux deviennent des salons prisés du Tout-Paris artistique : étrangers de passage, intellectuels et artistes parisiens s’y pressent afin de voir surtout les œuvres des deux champions de la collection – Matisse et Picasso.
