Through January 17, 2027, the Grand Palais is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to Paul Cezanne and his artistic legacy. In this video, curators Michel Gauthier and Jean-Rémi Touzet take you through the exhibition and help you appreciate his influence on artists past and present.

Bringing together around 180 artworks, including 69 by Paul Cezanne and artworks by 78 other artists, the exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of his artistic legacy. From Pablo Picasso to Henri Matisse, Paul Signac to Bridget Riley, and Paul Gauguin to Peter Doig, the works respond to one another and reveal connections that are sometimes unexpected.

Room after room, you’ll discover these dialogues across generations. Optical vibration, color, geometry, and even strangeness serve as guiding threads for understanding how artists have, each in their own way, embraced the master’s artistic explorations and formal freedom.

An exhibition that celebrates both the work of Paul Cézanne and that of the modern and contemporary artists who followed in his footsteps!
