Soyez mystérieuses.. tous les secrets de l'oeuvre de Gauguin

Que trouve-t-on au verso de ce panneau de bois, comment Gauguin l’a-t-il sculpté, comment l’a-t-il peint…découvrez les secrets de ce relief en vidéo !

Une baigneuse entre dans les flots. L’eau de couleur verte montre des franges d’écume stylisées, comme des rubans méandreux sculptés. De part et d’autre, des visages étranges : l’un coiffé d’un voile bleu à gauche, et l’autre aux traits orientaux à droite.

Ce panneau de bois a manifestement fait l’objet d’un remploi : le verso révèle les vestiges d’un relief polychromé disparu lors d’une opération de sciage mécanique, probablement effectuée par un menuisier à la demande de Gauguin.
