Opening show of Grand Palais d'été, Revoir les étoiles is a new, unprecedented creation by the Circa company, conceived on the monumental scale of the Nave. Flirting with dance, theater and music, it reinvents an ultra-contemporary, aerial circus.
A true ode to optimism, this creation takes its title from the final line of Dante's Inferno, when, after passing through the darkest depths, Dante and Virgil emerge from the abyss and see the stars again. Here, this return to joy is transformed into a circus performance at once fragile, luminous and charged with meaning.
Set within a vast space made up of platforms gradually adorned with a thousand light bulbs, the piece unfolds in a luminous landscape, somewhere between a constellation and a playground where bodies fall, climb, and take flight, together or atop one another. Moving among a multitude of circus apparatus, the performers navigate this field of light, shaped by risk, precision, and the pure pleasure of movement. Twelve acrobats from the Circa company and four live musicians share the stage. Music and bodies exist in close proximity, breathing together and responding to one another in real time.
Both epic and intimate, sincere and daring, Revoir les étoiles continues Circa’s tradition of combining artistic rigor with popular celebration. It is a love letter to the human species, sometimes so difficult to love. A theatrical experience shaped by resilience and hope. A horizon made of light.

About Circa
Since 2004, the Circa company, based in Brisbane, Australia, has toured the world. On international tour each year to present new productions, Circa frequently headlines leading venues and festivals across Australia as well as in New York, London, Berlin, and Montreal. A pioneer of the new wave of contemporary Australian circus, the company has helped redefine the discipline through a resolutely physical vision of circus that combines power and emotion. It seeks to blur the boundaries between circus, dance, and theatre. Quality, boldness, and humanity are the values it champions. Guided by their artistic director Yaron Lifschitz, the members of the company create productions that are as diverse as they are innovative. The company also develops socially engaged programs, such as Circa Academy, Circability, and Circa Cairns, an initiative led by Indigenous Australian communities, designed to be widely accessible and to offer pathways for professional development.
