Participate in an artistic procession inspired by the ritual of marriage, in a festive contemporary creation blending memory, music and collective celebration. This event is offered as part of the Saison Méditerranée 2026, at the invitation of the Institut du Monde Arabe.
Initiated by artist Mohamed Bourouissa as an echo to the exhibition Mariages (Algérie-Maroc-Tunisie) presented in September 2026 at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Raconte-moi ton mariage takes the form of a festive procession crossing several towns on the outskirts of Paris to reach the center of the capital.
Processions will converge from Gennevilliers, Saint-Ouen, Pantin, Saint-Denis and Argenteuil, creating a dialogue between the territories. Decorated cars, traditional and electronic music, a henna ceremony and a grand collective feast will punctuate this parade blending traditions, contemporary creation and the transmission of memories, between fiction and reality.
The project is based on wedding stories collected from residents of North African immigrant backgrounds. Actors and actresses will activate the performance based on these testimonies, giving shape to an imaginary marriage shaped by real-life stories.
The procession will then join the Nave of the Grand Palais for a grand celebration featuring artists of all generations and aesthetics. Music from North Africa, past and present, will accompany a collective feast and extend this moment of sharing, between popular celebration and contemporary artistic creation.
