Until March 15, you're invited to explore the fascinating worlds of Eva Jospin and Claire Tabouret, presented in two Grand Palais galleries linked by the same entrance.
In Grottesco, Eva Jospin offers an immersive journey of imaginary forests, caves and architectures. The artist brings together more than fifteen works, some created especially for the occasion. The title of the exhibition refers to the legend of a young Roman who discovered by chance the frescoes of the Domus Aurea: a buried world at the origin of the "grotesque", where vegetation, architecture and fantasy intertwine. The exhibition invites you to wander through a world in perpetual transformation: promontories, cenotaphs, caves, ruins and forests follow one another, constantly revealing new motifs. Among the never-before-seen pieces, a series of embroidered bas-reliefs particularly catches the eye, fusing textile and sculpture and marking a new stage in Eva Jospin's artistic research.
Claire Tabouret presents D'un seul souffle, a behind-the-scenes look at her monumental project: the creation of contemporary stained glass windows for Notre-Dame de Paris. Winner in December 2024 of the competition organized by the Ministry of Culture in association with the Simon-Marq studio, she unveils life-size models, sketches and preparatory work for the six stained-glass windows she created for the cathedral. These stained-glass windows, created in monotype and enhanced with stencils, respect the neutral light of the edifice while offering vivid, balanced colors. Inspired by the theme of Pentecost, a symbol of unity and harmony, the exhibition offers unprecedented access to her creative process and allows visitors to discover the intimacy of an extraordinary project.
Distributed on site or available online, it includes a floor plan, an extract from an interview with the curators and a presentation of the major sections of the exhibition.
