An artistic, playful and historic interlude before the holidays! You still have until January 4, 2026 to discover the adventure of the trio Saint Phalle, Tinguely, Hulten. Between the Swiss sculptor, the Franco-American sculptor and the Swedish curator weaves an incredible collaboration spanning several decades, punctuated by major projects.

It's because they believed in their dreams that they managed to make them come true. This message remains, and it is addressed to us all: utopia, if we believe in it passionately, can become reality.

Sophie Duplaix, Head Curator of Contemporary Collections, Musée national d'art moderne - Centre Pompidou Interview with the curator, exhibition educational file, GrandPalaisRmn 2025

Vers une aventure artistique pleine d'audace et de liberté

Co-produced with the Centre Pompidou, the exhibition traces the creative complicity between two major artists of the 19ᵉ century, Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely, with one of the great visionaries of the museum world, Pontus Hulten.

Their "joyful anarchism", their taste for experimentation and their shared desire to make art accessible to all irrigate the tour. Colorful sculptures, animated machines, monumental installations, emblematic models such as the one of Hon: the visitor goes through years of creation where energy, humor, rebellion and poetry mingle.

An exhibition designed for all audiences

The deliberately sober scenography lets the works breathe, as they surprise, come alive or burst with color. The ten-chapter chrono-thematic tour is accessible to adults and children alike, who can also take advantage of specially adapted labels and a resolutely playful spirit.
