Why is it famous? Following on the first two titles devoted to the master- pieces in the Musée d Orsay (reprinted in 2020) and the Louvre, a new addition to the collection "Why is it fa- mous? was published exploring the Pompidou Centre's collections. It was designed in cooperation with the cu- rators of the Musée National d Art Moderne. The author, Vincent Brocvielle, willingly takes an offbeat approach that is neither academic nor linear offering a wealth of juicy information for the greater pleasure of his readers, in particular those young adults who are said to read little. These books continue to perform very well. They are very popular with booksellers and the public (nearly 6,000 copies of the latest release already sold) because they are so accessible, with each page oozing with en- ergy and peps.
The Guide du Patrimoine Près de Chez Vous (The Guide to Heritage Near You): when books encounter heritage in every shape and form As tourism becomes increasingly synonymous with prox- imity, the Guide to Heritage Near You, designed with the Fondation du Patrimoine and prefaced by Stéphane Bern, presents 54 emblematic sites all over mainland and overseas France, which have benefited from an in- novative sponsorship scheme started in 2018 called the Heritage Lottery. The book, enriched with numerous il- lustrations and circuits of little-known visits, contributes to safeguarding French heritage: the Rmn - Grand Palais has agreed to pay over 1.20 euros to Mission Stéphane Bern for each copy sold. More than ever, this guide ac- companies the French in rediscovering their heritage in this new era when long haul flights are so last year!
