AROUND THE EXHIBITION
Given the postponement of the exhibition and its inter- ruption due to the second lockdown, the Rmn - Grand Palais mobilised in spring to offer the public a cultural programme on the Museum s website and relayed on social networks.
Man Ray et Moi (Man Ray and I) Fashion photographers, curators, critics, fashion design- ers more than thirty influential personalities from the fashion community, admirers of the Man Ray s work, were invited to address the testimonial programme "Man Ray et Moi . By word or image, their stories showed the importance and influence of Man Ray on their creations and work today. Initiated in the spring of 2020, Man Ray et Moi enabled the public and internet users to plunge into the world of the exhibition before it could open its doors in the autumn.
Multimedia resources and content Other articles have also been published on the Musée du Luxembourg website, highlighting the specificities of Man Ray s work and his journey as an artist (who is Man Ray? What is solarisation?). A playlist devised by Tsuku Boshi (an independent experimental and elec- tronic music label) in the form of a musical walking tour also became available in the spring. The pages of the
museeduluxembourg.fr site on the exhibition chalked up more than 175,000 views.
The online content developed before the actual open- ing of the exhibition remained available on the Musée du Luxembourg site and was supplemented by new content intended in particular for young audiences. A children's play booklet was compiled along with a tuto- rial "Photographiez la mode comme Man Ray (Shoot fashion like Man Ray) for use at home to replace the children's workshop planned. The keynote conference by the curators presenting the exhibition was broadcast again and a selection of commented works were made available free of charge on the museum s new app.
A digital touch device A permanent digital device has been installed in the heart of the exhibition halls of the Musée du Luxembourg and was used for the first time in the Man Ray and Fashion exhibition. A touch terminal connected to a HD video screen now enables visitors to discover and zoom in on works in high definition, a very novel initiative that is a perfect accompaniment to the exhibition. For the Man Ray and Fashion exhibition, this system offered a comparative perspective on the artist s models and cre- ations: "From dress to photo", or "Evening gowns: the evolution of the figure, hairstyle and make-up".
