Tribute to healthcare personnel 13 JULY An evening of thanks to healthcare personnel on the front line during the pandemic took place in the nave on 13 July. Organized by the Ministry of Health, this event brought togeth- er some 800 healthcare profession- als and was an opportunity to pay tribute to the medical profession on the front line in the battle against the epidemic since the start of the crisis. Relatives of Covid-19 caregivers and members of the Ministry's crisis cell also took part in the event.
Réveiller les Monuments (Wake up the monuments): Cellist Camille Thomas takes over the nave 24 NOVEMBER In response to the sudden cessation of cultural life, the Franco-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas decided as early as March to wake up the deserted museums and monu- ments by moving in and playing a piece of music. After the Palace of Versailles, the Arab World Institute, the Palais Garnier or the Museum of Natural History, Camille Thomas played alone in the nave of the Grand Palais. Her interpretation of Wagner's Traümewas filmed then broadcast on social media in the spring of 2021.
WANTED! Art is yours in the Grand Palais 24 AND 25 OCTOBER In October, the Rmn - Grand Palais and the Perrontin Gallery came together to create an unprecedented event: WANTED! This highly original treasure hunt invited the public to search for 20 works of art hidden in the nave of the Grand Palais. Free of charge and open to all, this festive quest called on visitors to come together to celebrate their love of art and the beauty of the Grand Palais. The winners were able to keep the works they found. These works were by the artists Chiho Aoshima, Iván Argote, Daniel Arsham, Genesis Belanger, Johan Creten, Elmgreen & Dragset, Bernard Frize, Laurent Grasso, Thilo Heinzmann, Gregor Hildebrandt, JR, Bharti Kher, Klara Kristalova, Takashi Murakami, Jean-Michel Othoniel, GaHee Park, Paola Pivi, Emily Mae Smith, Aya Takano and Xavier Veilhan.
The Night of Museums reinvents itself in a digital format 14 NOVEMBER On 14 November, the European Night of Museums took place in the form of a sound-filled walking tour online! It was lis- tened to by 2,500 internet users. With the Grand Palais closed, everyone had the chance to be carried away by a sound-filled and immersive walking tour right from the comfort of their own sofas, with Sammy Baloji s resonating sculpted brass instruments, the sounds of the installation of the Noir & Blanc exhibition and the rehearsals of the choreographer Boris Charmatz in the nave.
