FREE DIGITAL RESOURCES A NEW, MORE COLOURFUL MOOC
Supported by the Orange Foundation, the Rmn - Grand Palais offered four MOOCs to internet us- ers free of charge up to 2019; they had attracted nearly 100,000 participants in all. In 2020, it pub- lished its fifth MOOC entitled Couleurs : bleu, jaune, rouge dans l art (Colours: blue, yellow, red in art), which attracted 29,000 participants throughout the year. Since ancient times, the nature and origin of col- our have been at the heart of discussions between philosophers and physicists. In the 17th century, the concept of primary colours emerged: blue, yellow and red. To address the use of these col- ours in art we must go through all ages, styles and meanings.
HISTORY STORIES
The Rmn Grand Palais and Arte have teamed up to create a series of 15 short videos immersing viewers in history. Taken from the 15 most visited articles on the "Histoire par l Image site, these 3-minute videos are aimed at enabling the gen- eral public to understand and decipher the great historical events and upheavals in society from the 16th to the 20th century. One example is the por- trait of Louis 14, the coronation of Napoleon I, or propaganda posters from the second world war.
