A portrait of Blaise Pascal, after 1662 Tradition has it that it this portrait was based on the death mask of the author of Les Pensées, at the request of his sister, Gilberte Perier. The oldest known portrait of Blaise Pascal painted by François II Quesnel (1637- 1699), from which all those that followed are no doubt derived, was acquired by the Musée de Port-Royal in 2020.
The "Voge Treasure", 2nd half of the 16th century and the start of the 17th century Few of the precious metal objects from the Renaissance have survived to the present day. This set of part- ly gold-plated silver table items and jewellery discovered in 2017 is testi- mony to the wealth of the domestic utensils a wealthy bourgeois family had at that time. The most appropri- ate home for these precious items of major interest in terms of French heritage was clearly the National Museum of the Renaissance which acquired them in 2020.
