MAINTENANCE, UPKEEP AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT In 2020, the maintenance, upkeep and property man- agement department fully renovated the patio at the head office of the Rmn - Grand Palais located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The work, designed by a landscape artist, distributes the space around large metal claustras from which various climbing plants ema- nate, offering vertical perennial and floral compositions. Natural stone tile slabs on mounts facilitate maintenance of the patio and provide greater protection against the elements. The designer uses verticality to evoke the ge- ometry of the building. This project enables employees to benefit from quality rest spaces, including one cov- ered area. A ribbon of low-energy LED lights is sunk into the upper part, highlighting the graphic quality of the project.
In the casting and Chalcography studios in Saint-Denis, the work focused on improving safety and security con- ditions: a new intrusion detection system was installed, access codes were changed and the fire safety manage- ment centre was overhauled. At the Grand Palais, the teams carried out a complete inventory of the spaces in order to plan transfer opera- tions which took place right up to the date the building was closed for renovation. With the closure of the Grand Palais and the start of renovation work approaching, the department helped the various occupants present in the building, such as the Salons d Art Historiques or the Comédie Française, to relocate. The relocation of the Palais de la Découverte took place in December 2020; the Grand Palais Building and Renovation Department took back responsibility for maintenance of the installations from that date.
