The Domaine Clarence Dillon commits to supporting the restoration of the Grand Palais statues Among the renovation works planned at the Grand Palais, is in-depth façade cleaning and conservation work in order to consolidate and restore the stat- ues and protect them sustainably. The sculptures of the Palais d Antin façade, given over to the arts and sciences, have been particularly hit by the ravages of time and pollution and have been covered with netting since 2018. As a patron of the arts and heritage, Domaine Clarence Dillon has chosen to support this extensive restoration by contributing up to one million euros for the complete restoration of the ten works adorn- ing the façade of the Grand Palais along Franklin Roosevelt Avenue. The Engie Foundation invites the public to discover the Franck Scurti studio during the " Summer of Learning and Culture" The Engie Foundation has partnered with the Rmn - Grand Palais to allow a broad audience to discover the work and studio of artist Franck Scurti, presented in the nave of the Grand Palais in the Summer. Thanks to the Engie Foundation more than 340 participants from associations such as Fête le Mur , Aurore , or La Voix de l Enfant first visited the district in which the Grand Palais is located before going into the nave and chatting with the artist a privileged encounter for many young people who cannot easily access culture.
Bring the museum into the classroom thanks to the distribution of educational packages The Rmn - Grand Palais has been offering a unique cultural engagement offer since 2018 when it de- veloped four educational packages aimed at rais- ing pupils awareness of art. In 2020, the Sextant Foundation renewed its support enabling 72 schools all over France and overseas to benefit from the ed- ucational packages through a contest.
Club Entreprises Despite health restrictions depriving the public of major cultural events, the Rmn Grand Palais Club Entreprises continued in 2020 thanks to its faithful patrons and welcomed two new members. Webinars, virtual tours, online art history courses new remote services enabled members to experience art from home.
The operation Places aux Jeunes! maintained and expanded In this very particular year, the Rmn - Grand Palais wanted to maintain the operation "Places aux Jeunes! ". Created in 2018 and reiterated every year since thanks to the patronage of the Caisse d Epargne Ile-de-France, this operation enables young peo- ple under 26 to visit the exhibitions in the Grand Palais free of charge during late evening openings. To manage flows and comply with social distancing measures, the Rmn - Grand Palais has replaced these evening openings with free tickets bookable online at specific time slots for young people. Thus, 1,040 young people were able to visit Pompeii for free. The establishment also wished to innovate by hav- ing the operation for the first time at the Musée du Luxembourg: As a result, 135 young people were able to visit the museum free of charge to discover Man Ray and Fashion, before the exhibition closed due to the second lockdown.
