FINANCIAL AFFAIRS
ACCOMPANY THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE RMN- GRAND PALAIS WHILE ENSURING SOUND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. The finance division supports the establishment s strategic projects. The teams work with operational departments to draw up economic projections and ensure business devel- opment projects are feasible.
In 2020, the division supported the following projects in particular: The preparation of the future 2021-2025 Targets and
Performance Contract (COP) with modelling of indica- tors and adapting objectives to the financial trajectory of the establishment;
The creation of the Grand Palais Immersif subsidiary in charge of producing, operating and distributing digital exhibitions: review of the business model and the need for financing, assessment and justification of contribu- tions, establishment of the administrative structure;
The new direction given to the New Grand Palais project, which led to the estimated final cost of the project being recalculated on an item by item basis and the business model of the Grand Palais being reviewed on reopen- ing to take account of the new architectural project for a full opening from the end of march 2025. Some 30 public contracts, which were executed under the dele- gated authority of OPPIC, were transferred to the Rmn - Grand Palais at the end of 2020. This transfer led to a change in the way commitments were processed and the administrative monitoring of the expenditure chain for construction contracts.
This year, which was strongly disrupted by the health crisis and the two lockdowns, had an impact on all the Rmn - Grand Palais activities, leading it to review its projects and investments in order to contain expenditure. The financial teams have provided regular monitoring data to enable us to monitor the economic situation of the establishment on an on-going basis (monthly update of landings at the end of the year), resulting in a revised budget approved by the board of directors on 17 December 2020 and a strength- ening of projected cash-flow monitoring.
The General Secretariat is responsible for ensuring sound and efficient legal and financial management of the Rmn- Grand Palais.
